Memory Been Letting You Down Discover If It Needs A Workout.

As we age we often find that our bodies don’t work quite as well as they have in the past. One of the most common issues I hear from my friends and experience myself with is forgetting things or problems with memory.

Lots of people suffer memory loss, or a blurred memory. They find big events are easily recalled but when they come to remember more detail it all seems a bit foggy.

Suprisingly maybe for some, this isn’t just an issue that only affects the elderly. Memory loss can happen to anyone of any age. We all lead hectic lives and when we have so much on our minds, some information just slips through the cracks and we wonder why we can’t recal things.

One thing I find many people are forgetful about are birth days and they lose stuff like car keys, letters and things like that. Now where did I put them again?

When it only happens the odd time or two we tend to forget about it and just move on putting it down to being too busy at the time or something like that. However if it keeps happening it could indicate a problem needing deeper investigation.

Memory loss is a worry to people they first think they are losing their mind and feel awkward talking to others about it even their doctors. They would rather just forget about it and accept it without further thought on the matter as part of the old age process.

Memory loss can at most levels be improved on, provided it does not come as a result of serious medical problems or injury. Solutions range for more severe problems from drugs to simple memory training and health supplements for less serious memory issues.

One way of helping your memory is to write things down to help bring them back to the front of your mind. We often find this is all that is required to jog our memory back on track.

This works for a number of reasons sometimes when we know we can refer back to clarify information we feel less pressure to remember it and recall it naturally. That’s why keeping a diary or journal often helps.

Many people have short term memory issues mine is with peoples names. I find that if I repeat their name several times it’s much easier to recall when I need to.I also try and imagine that person while saying their name.

Memory loss is a condition that can affect anyone. By taking a few small steps each day you can work towards powering your memory back up. It’s much like the memory game that children play when they are small to exercise that part of their mind. You know the one with matching pairs of cards.

The adult version may differ a slightly, but the idea works pretty much the same. Exercising the mind is much like exercising any other muscle within your body. If it’s not stimulated your memory won’t work as well as it did before and you will forget stuff.
